What is the benefit to the readers in 5 minutes?
Readers will break down the psychological fallacy of deferred happiness and develop a mental model of how to combine the short-term appreciation with the long-term aspiration. They will be taught to justify their own resilience in the prism of the philosophy of the Amazing World. Cheers to you.
The Paradox of Ambition: Why We Have Problems With the Immediate Present.
The modern atmosphere of high achievement is prone to the linear discourse of success. We have been brainwashed to perceive happiness as a final point on a coordinate scale, which can be achieved once the following variables are fulfilled: career achievements, money level, or personal awards.
It is a teleological way of living which produces a great cognitive dissonance. We make our present lives only a medium of passage by repeatedly postponing pleasure, making them entirely worthless.
According to our background philosophy on [navigating the tapestry of life], there is no end destination but an elaborate, never-ending tapestry of experience. The quote, Amazing world, cheers for you is a criticism of philosophy.
It requires a twofold acknowledgement: a gleaning in the complexity of the external world and an internal affirmation of the self to make its way through that world.
Deconstructing the "Deferred Gratification" Trap.
Someday heuristic is a common problem of the modern psyche. It is the psychological process in which a mortgaging of self-worth is made against future performance.
Our ability to be happy is put on hold when we are working within this paradigm. We disregard the actual facts of our lives and focus on some hypothetical future which is statistically uncertain.
Such an attitude is expressed in several undesirable forms:
The satisfaction yardstick is always shifted away, and there should never be a situation where one feels satisfied enough.
DE before intermittent rewards (small wins), the dopaminergic reward system will be starved, resulting in exhaustion.
Existential Blindness: We are numbed to the aesthetic and relationship beauty of the amazing world that we live in.
Mindfulness as a Daily Framework: How to Operationalize an Idea.
To overcome this, we have to be experimental in our everyday life; we have to change the passive endurance into an active one. This does not mean one must stop being ambitious, but rather a restoration of presence.
There are certain mental things we can apply to refreeze our lives:
Phenomenological Anchoring: Have an intention to interfere with your workflow to notice a physical aspect of your surroundings. Recognize the complexity of the amazing world you are in, regardless of your stressors.
Resilience Authentication: Call survival success. A complicated social interaction or being able to hold oneself together when facing stress are measurable wins.
Sensory Re-engagement: Get past intellectualizing work. Use the five senses of the surrounding world: the smell of your coffee, the feel of your paper, the noise around you.
📌 My Insight:
I had entered into a trap of extreme scholarly tunnel vision during my doctoral research. My value was based on output only. One night, I was too tired and sat by my window and watched how the city lights were distorted by a rainstorm. The pure, uncontrolled riot of the physics work made my anxiety pale for a moment. I had understood that I was also a participant in this wonderful world, but not its master. That short change of mind gave me the psychological space to keep on. This little moment was a needed cheer to myself, -a necessary cheer to myself.
The Synthesis of Self and World: Cheers to You: No correlation exists between the Synthesis of Self and World and the Synthesis of World.
Finally, the words that are said, the expression of the phrase "Amazing world, cheers for you," imply the symbiotic relationship between the one who is observed and the observer. The context of it is offered by the world; you offer it the consciousness to perceive it.
To glorify oneself is not being vain; it is being calibrated. The recognition that balance in a chaotic system is, in itself, one of the significant accomplishments is the key to success.
It is the curator business of yours. You are legitimizing your agency when you stop and give yourself credit for a small achievement. You are affirming that you are not a passive consumer of the surroundings, but a proactive member of the environment to be considered.
We should make the habit of commemorating minor achievements a normal routine for mental health. The world is certainly a wonderful thing, but you need your active participation to make it complete.
As part of a spirit of vigorous self-reflection, what is a single measurable example of resilience that you exhibited today that should be cheered in your mind? Share your experience below.
