The Ontology of Becoming: Travelling the Teleology of Imperfect Progression.
Abstract:
This question is an exploration of the swirling phenomenological paradox of the fast-tracked logic of contemporary human capital and the necessarily disjointed pace of the existential. Modern life is more and more imposed to condensed results, the results, measured, optimized, and prematurely decisive, whereas the human body is dominated by the biological, psychological, and ontological cycles that do not well up to this efficiency.
Placing this discussion in the context of unfolding, the article will examine the stress produced by the current Efficiency Paradigm: a culture of buildings that focus more on speed, optimization, and visible destinations than on depth, coherence, and integration. It rejects the implication of this system that progress, which remains imperfect, by temporal analysis and ontological reflection, is a necessary feature of structure in order to be able to establish durable identity, mature ethicality, and professional strength.
The paper concludes that mastery, wisdom, and coherence are properties of long-term being, not the products of stricter times. What is slow to the naked eye is oftentimes the only time at which something is going to be solidified.
The Teleological Crisis: The High Price of the Accelerated Self.
We are experiencing a silent crisis, a crisis that hardly proclaims itself as a disaster, but gradually, it is wearing away the richness of the human experience. The modern environment of hyper-productivity has restructured life in a series of deliverables. Value is more and more assessed in terms of speed, relevance in terms of immediacy, and identity in terms of output.
The Efficiency Paradigm: an invisible and omnipresent pressure to perform with algorithmic accuracy and precision to generate peak performance lies at the core of this shift. It is a worldview that considers time an enemy, patience a waste of time, and becoming a nuisance that should be as minimal as possible.
But this rush does not take into consideration a primary fact that no technological acceleration has been able to rewrite: life lives. Slowly. Asymmetrically. Often awkwardly. And always on its own terms.
There is not the overstrain of growth itself that becomes the main failure of the accelerated self, but ontological compression. We want to skip the long, provisional middle period of becoming to reach through the weakest efforts too soon the goal of being. The intervening years are considered as latency and not incubation. The product of this is a life which appears to be full, but which is hollow in structure, a life which is polished on the surface, and under-rooted beneath.
When unfolding is in a hurry, then time is not saved; depth is lost. What comes into the limelight soon may work, but it hardly lasts long.
The Sub-Problems of Temporal Friction and Existential Burnout.
This requirement of immediate appearance provides minor but accumulating disruptions in both personal and professional life. These breaks are usually diagnosed as personal failure instead of the distortion within the system.
The Velocity Fallacy:
The greatest delusion of contemporary expansion culture is that speed and progress are equivalent. The kind of expansion that this fallacy brings about is horizontal, giving more tasks, more visibility, more activity, but not vertical, the reorganization of the inside that changes the capability, judgment, and character of the person. The motion is confused with evolution.
The obscuration of the Liminal Space:

Analysing the Variable: The Calculus of Duration and Depth.
Making sense of slow unfolding means, in a deeper sense, reinventing our association with time, not as an object that can be optimized, but as a medium through which meaning is created. The quality of the result produced by a complex system cannot be divorced, as in every complex system, such as stabilizing an ecosystem following a perturbation, the solving of the motifs in a symphony, or the formation of coherence in the course of a human life, the time of its formation becomes inseparable from the quality of the result obtained. The depth does not build up by adding to it, but builds up by incorporating it. What acts hurriedly may work, but what is assimilated lasts.
The contemporary models of success, though, constantly hide what would otherwise be referred to as the latent period: the prolonged period during which hard work bears no obvious fruit. It is the season of rehearsal with no applause, investigation with no resolution, and work without a story reward. Here is the place where skills become sedimented, the values are well aligned, and internal reference points are gently re-aligned. However, since this stage is not amenable to spectacle and measurement, it is automatically discarded as inefficiency instead of being accepted as incubation.
It is not the length of the latent period but its misunderstanding that is a tragedy. The modern society considers invisibility as failure, stillness as stagnation, and ambiguity as waste. By so doing, it destroys the conditions on which insight grows. The brain, as well as land, needs rest. In its absence, it can grow very fast, but it shall be shallow and easily damaged, and it can soon be torn out.
A heuristic that is useful to see this dynamic is the 70 20 10 distribution of development. Approximately seventy percent of significant growth occurs in low terrain, dubious terrain, experimentation, misjudgment, recalibration, and slow pattern recognition. Twenty per cent rise to half-traction: lapses of sanity, temporary faith, and patchy progress. This ratio is however, has been inverted in modern culture. It requires unwavering admission to the last ten percent and avoids the shaping seventy. Clergy is supposed to be credentialed without being apprenticed, authority without perseverance, perception without lived experience. Its consequence is an increase in the number of conclusions that are not supported by anything, opinions that are unsupported by experience, and do not become hardened by error.
